NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The reigning national champion Vanderbilt Commodores didn’t get any RBI hits on Friday.

Not when those “Vandy Boys” — as they are known here in Music City – have 6-foot-4, 255-pound righthander Kumar Rocker, who shut down a valiant East Carolina Pirates team 2-0 in the opener of this best-of-three super regional.
Rocker (13-3) threw a season-high 117 pitches – including 72 for strikes – and held ECU to just three singles, no extra-base hits and three walks in 7.2 innings.
