Throughout the summer, we’ll be providing wall to wall coverage from the Cape Cod League, including regular batches of first-hand scouting notes on all the latest players standing out to scouts and updates on key players from programs around the nation.

With the annual Cape Cod League All-Star game taking place on Saturday at Spillane Field in Wareham, it’s time to take a look at some of the players making impressions in the days leading up to All-Star weekend. Some will be represented in the All-Star festivities, while others will not and deserve to be watched very closely over the final few weeks of Cape League action.

Scouting Notes

– Coming into the summer, Jeremy Eierman (2018, ss, Missouri State) had already earned a reputation as one of the most exciting prospects in the 2018 draft class. After a strong showing with Team USA over the last month, he had done nothing to dispel that notion. Eierman homered in his first two games on the Cape, and narrowly missed homering in the cavernous center field in Orleans in game number three. Eierman has advanced skills at shortstop, and given that combination of power and defensive prowess, he is looking like a top of the first round draft prospect for 2018.
