It’s hard to believe, but the 2019 college baseball season is here, and it’s time to take a look at the crystal ball from a postseason standpoint.

Many things will change between now and the end of the season, but this is a good starting point based on our Preseason Top 25 Rankings.

Vanderbilt and LSU lead the top eight national seeds, while Texas Tech comes in at No. 3. In all, the top eight seeds include three SEC teams, two from the ACC and Pac 12 and one from the Big 12.

The SEC has six teams in the Top 16, while the ACC and Pac 12 each have three, the Big 12 with two and the American and Big Ten with one each. Arkansas is the only team ranked in the Top 16 in our Top 25 that isn’t a Top 16 seed in our projections. We gave the final national seed to Michigan. If the Wolverines meet expectations this spring and enter Memorial Day with a strong RPI, it’s a safe bet they’ll be a national seed.

In terms of overall bids, the SEC and ACC lead the charge with 10 and nine, respectively, while the Pac 12, Big 12 and American are next in line with six, five and four, respectively. The Big Ten has three representatives in the projections, while Conference USA and the Big West each have two.
