Heat Sheet: College Baseball’s Flamethrowers

Who are college baseball’s hardest throwers? We added four new names to the list this week, and Zach Hess added more heat to his previous high of 96, touching a 97 at Texas on Friday night. We also had our first 100, but it was on a warmup pitch by Kyle Nicolas (Ball State) and not during game action. He did, however, run it up to 98 during the inning.

After three weeks of games, here’s a list of the 22 college pitchers we have seen throw at least one fastball 96 mph or better.

All velocities were seen firsthand by D1 Baseball or Prep Baseball Report staff members.
