Early Risers: Pitchers With Draft Helium

We’ve completed just four weeks of the D1 baseball season, but here are nine 2020 draft-eligible pitchers who are already creating a buzz in the scouting industry.

Braden Olthoff, JR, RHP, Tulane– A junior college transfer from California, Olthoff has made an immediate impact as the Friday night starter for the Green Wave and created a lot of scouting buzz in the process. His latest start against Southern University resulted in 13 strikeouts over seven innings and one unearned run. His fastball lives in the 89-92 range (T94) with some sink and angle. He also throws an 11/5 curveball with good command at 77-79 mph. His slider is a swing/miss pitch with really good depth, tunneling well off of his fastball at 81-82 mph.
