2017 D1Baseball Final Top 25 RankingsRankings
OMAHA — Fresh off a CWS Finals win over LSU and the program’s first national title, the Florida Gators finish the season as the top team in the land in the D1Baseball.com Top 25.
The Gators put together a valiant run through the College World Series that included a bracket championship win over TCU, while disposing of LSU in just two games. While the Gators lead the charge, the Tigers come in at No. 2 with Oregon State, which finished the season with a 56-6 overall record, coming in at No. 3. TCU and Louisville round out the top five, while fellow CWS participants Florida State, Cal State Fullerton and Texas A&M round out the top eight.
The Aggies are one of four teams that are in the final rankings that weren’t in our final regular season rankings. Joining them in that category are No. 18 Sam Houston State, No. 19 Vanderbilt and, of course, No. 25 Davidson, which shocked the country with a run through the Chapel Hill Regional and gave A&M all it could handle in the College Station Super Regional.
The SEC finishes the season with the most teams ranked, seven, while the ACC comes in with six teams. The other leagues are as follows: Big 12 (3), Pac 12 (2), Big West (2), American (1), Southland (1), Conference USA (1), Missouri Valley (1), Atlantic 10 (1)
