Arkansas remains No. 1 in the D1Baseball Top 25 for the fifth consecutive week after sweeping Ole Miss to improve to 27-3 overall and 11-1 in the SEC. The next four teams — Clemson, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Oregon State — also hold steady to round out the top five.
Vanderbilt climbs one spot to No. 6 after winning a road series at LSU, which tumbles out of the Top 25 from No. 18. Duke moves up two spots to No. 7 after sweeping Miami. Kentucky makes the biggest move of the week, vaulting nine spots to No. 8 after sweeping Alabama to improve to 11-1 in the SEC, three games ahead of Vandy in the East. The Crimson Tide, meanwhile, slide 12 spots to No. 25.
Along with LSU and Alabama, Florida takes a huge tumble in the rankings after getting swept at last-place Missouri. The Gators, who are just 17-14 overall despite winning their first three SEC series and six straight weekend series overall before this weekend, plummet 18 spots to No. 24.
East Carolina moves up three spots and Florida State climbs four spots to round out the top 10. Virginia and UC Irvine move up four spots apiece to 11 and 12, respectively, after winning big home series against North Carolina and UC Irvine. The Tar Heels salvaged Sunday’s finale to cushion their fall; they are down three spots to No. 13. Elsewhere in the ACC, preseason No. 1 Wake Forest swept a huge road series at then-No. 11 Virginia Tech. The Deacs climb seven spots to No. 14, while the Hokies fall five spots to No. 16 after their first weekend series loss of the year.
Three teams make their season debuts in the rankings this week. Oregon jumps in at No. 18 after winning a road series at UCLA; the Ducks have won all four of their Pac-12 series to improve to 8-4 in the league. Louisiana checks in at No. 19 after sweeping UL Monroe to extend its winning streak to 15 games. And Oklahoma State joins the Top 25 at No. 21 after taking two of three from Oklahoma, on the heels of quality series wins at West Virginia and TCU.
LSU, NC State and South Carolina fall out of the Top 25 this week, as the Tigers and Gamecocks lost home series and the Wolfpack were swept at Louisville.
D1Baseball editors and national writers determine the Top 25 rankings. Records are through games of April 7.
