D1Baseball Top 25: May 29Rankings
Oregon State heads into the NCAA tournament ranked No. 1 in the D1Baseball Top 25 rankings for the 11th week in a row. The Beavers finished 49-4 in the regular season to earn the No. 1 national seed in the NCAA tournament. North Carolina remained No. 2 and earned the No. 2 national seed.
SEC tournament champion LSU jumped four spots to No. 3 in the D1Baseball rankings, one spot ahead of co-regular season champion Florida, though the Gators earned the higher national seed (No. 3) than the Tigers (No. 4). Texas Tech fell two spots to No. 5, and TCU stayed put at No. 6, matching their national seeds. Louisville dropped two places to No. 7, and Stanford climbed two places to No. 8, again matching their national seeds.
ACC tournament champion Florida State vaulted back into the rankings at No. 16 after a strong finishing kick that earned it a regional host. No. 13 Virginia is the lone team inside the top 16 that did not earn a regional host; it went instead to No. 21 Clemson, which went 0-2 in the ACC tournament this week to fall three more spots in the rankings.
Texas also returned to the rankings at No. 19 after making a run to the Big 12 title game. Nebraska and Oklahoma fell out of the Top 25.
D1Baseball editors Aaron Fitt and Kendall Rogers determine the Top 25 rankings. Records are through May 28.
