2020 Sun Belt Conference Preview: Coastal Remains On Top
Season Preview The Sun Belt Conference remains Coastal Carolina’s domain until someone can knock the Chanticleers off.
It looked like 2019 might be the year, as Coastal finished the regular season with a 36-26 record, and 15-13 in the conference to open as the No. 5 seed in the Sun Belt Conference tournament. The Chants even lost the first game of the tournament, but then surged to five wins in four days to win the Sun Belt Conference title and the conference’s only regional bid. This year South Alabama looks like the biggest challenger to Coastal’s dominance, with Georgia Southern, Louisiana and Troy lurking as dark horse candidates.
