Etheridge: What to make of a gut-wrenching loss in Starkville
SEC ExtraSTARKVILLE, Miss – Mississippi State lost a game Saturday. That happens in baseball. In the past two seasons, that losing thing has happened more than anyone expected to the proud fans in Starkville.
You can understand if head coach Chris Lemonis might even be slightly frustrated. Many among the fanbase are definitely frustrated.
In 2021, the Bulldogs won the whole damn thing in Omaha.
The past two seasons didn’t merit a trip to Hoover.
Something has to change to get the Bulldogs’ ship righted.
This is a new year with renewed hope, presenting a new opportunity in Starkville.
The pitching had to get better.
