SEC Newcomer Report: Alabama

A slow build at Alabama bore fruit in 2023, with the Crimson Tide reaching their first super regional since 2010. That was a fairly veteran team, however, so there was going to be some turnover regardless. 

But then that turnover was exacerbated by some departures through the transfer portal, most notably third baseman Colby Shelton and righthander Luke Holman, who likely would have been Alabama’s Friday starter next season had he still been around.
