SEC Player and Pitcher of the Week – Week 3

Player of the Week

Shelton is just a freshman but he sure hasn’t played like it so far, and especially not last week. In four games, a midweek game against Jacksonville State and a series against Illinois-Chicago, he went 7-for-15 with five home runs and 12 RBIs. Additionally, two of his home runs were grand slams, part of a streak in which the Crimson Tide has hit grand slams in four consecutive games. For the season, Shelton is batting .394/.500/1.061 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs.
