Miller, a junior college transfer, was immediately the most dangerous hitter in the Alabama lineup last season. He hit eight home runs in his first 14 games and didn’t slow down all that much from there on the way to batting .381/.474/.702 with 18 home runs, 56 RBIs and more walks (27) than strikeouts (24). His performance put him in position to be drafted in the third round by the Marlins last month.
