Lineup MVP: Dylan Crews opened the year on a torrid tear and ignited discussions about batting .500. In the end, Crews finished batting .426/713/.567 and won the Golden Spikes Award given to the nation’s top player. His batting average and on-base percentage led the team along with runs scored (100), hits (110), walks (71), and he fielded a perfect 1.000 in center field with 171 chances. Crews had a five-hit game and a pair of four-hit games, the second coming in the CWS final clincher.
