Lineup MVP: Cole Messina

Messina had a monster season for the second straight year. He batted .326/.465/.701 with 19 doubles, 21 home runs and 71 RBIs, and with a .330/.453/.616 slash line, he was far and away South Carolina’s best hitter in SEC play. The next-highest batting average among regulars in conference play was .288. 

Pitching Staff MVP: Garrett Gainey

A transfer from Liberty after beginning his career at Winthrop, Gainey had his best season against the toughest competition of his career. He had a 4.00 ERA and 68 strikeouts compared to 11 walks in 54 innings. Along the[…]
