SEC ExtraThe SEC once again cleaned up in the transfer portal over the summer. The usual suspects like LSU, Texas A&M and both Mississippi schools were heavily involved in bringing in top players, and even Vanderbilt, previously the most reserved program in the SEC when it comes to recruiting transfers, jumped into the fray to a greater degree.
The verdict that a program can win big by heavily supplementing a roster through transfers has long been handed down in the affirmative, and there’s mounting evidence that those who don’t put significant resources into recruiting transfers can easily get left behind.
