GREENVILLE, S.C. — Big Ten teams had to wait two weeks longer than everybody else to open their 2021 seasons, but it was clear Friday that they made the most of their extra ramp-up time. The four Big Ten clubs that gathered Friday at Greenville’s Fluor Field for their season openers looked ready to go — they played with serious energy, and their starting pitchers were already built up and ready to shoulder full workloads, which you don’t normally see when teams open in mid-February after just three weeks of intrasquads.
