Tuesday ACC Dispatches: Pitt, NC State, UNC Take Day One
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The opening day of the ACC tournament featured plenty of offense, which should come as no surprise considering how many standout offensive clubs (and suspect pitching staffs) populate the conference this year, and how hitter-friendly Charlotte’s Truist Field tends to play. The first two games featured rematches from the final weekend of the regular season, and in both cases the team that got swept a few days ago bounced back to win Tuesday: Pittsburgh doubled up Georgia Tech 12-6 and NC State outslugged Wake Forest 11-8.
