It was a trying summer for the Orleans Firebirds, who went 15-25 to finish fourth in the East Division. But there were some bright spots, highlighted by righthander Itsuki Takemoto (Hawaii) winning the league’s Whitehouse Outstanding Pitcher Award. Itsuki led a contingent of six Firebirds who made the all-star game, as he was joined by fellow righties Callan Fang and Cody Bowker plus infielders Hudson Shupe and Jack Gurevitch and outfielder Ben Zeigler-Namoa.
