Prospect Rundown: Coastal Plain League

Summer Baseball

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A shortage of reliable pitching was the primary reason Arkansas missed regionals this spring for the first time in the Dave Van Horn era. The Hogs need some of their young arms to take steps forward next spring, so the summer success of rising sophomore righthander Barrett Loseke is a welcome development.

Loseke was one of the top standouts at Monday’s Coastal Plain League all-star game, earning pitcher of the game honors after striking out all three batters he faced in his one inning of work, the fourth.
