Summer Notebook: Schultz Shines In Prospect League Leading Up To Draft
Summer BaseballNoah Schultz, one of the top players eligible for this year’s draft, is barely a month removed from high school and yet he spent the first month-plus of his summer pitching in a summer collegiate league. A 6-foot-9, 240-pound lefthander from Aurora, Ill., Schultz is a highly coveted prospect with some physical traits similar to those of Randy Johnson. The stature is one of those obvious commodities, and like Johnson, Schultz throws from a lower slot with a high-spin slider that makes him especially unhittable against lefthanded hitters.
