Emerging ECU Ace Whisenhunt Bests Charlotte’s McGowan In Fun Duel

GREENVILLE, N.C. — A heavy scouting presence descended upon Clark-Leclair Stadium on Saturday to get a look at Charlotte righthander Bryce McGowan, and perhaps to see how rising prospect Connor Norby fared against him. McGowan and Norby were both very good, and their performances made the trip worthwhile for the scouting contingent — but they also got a sneak preview of a potential first-round arm for the 2022 draft who upstaged everybody else: East Carolina lefthander Carson Whisenhunt.
