OMAHA — LSU head coach Jay Johnson had nine options to start against Tennessee.

He chose lefthanded pitcher Nate Ackenhausen.

Ackenhausen, a 6-foot-2, 240-pounder, might have been one of the least likely options to start the elimination game against the Volunteers. The lefthander entered the game with 15 appearances on the season — none of those outings were starts, however.

This one was, and it was on the biggest stage and in the most important game. No pressure, right?
