What began as a slow summer on the head coaching carousel transformed into one of the busiest in recent memory as well over 40 head coaching vacancies were filled over the past couple of the months.

Two of those hires — Alabama and Northwestern — were following some tumultuous moments over the past calendar year. At Alabama, head coach Brad Bohannon was fired after some gambling improprieties were uncovered.
