Etheridge: Clearing out the Gainesville notebook
At The BallparkGAINESVILLE, Fla — I was in Gainesville for the entire weekend, during which Florida and Texas A&M battled to a basic stalemate. The home-standing Gators made the plays late in Sunday’s rubber game to win the series.
The teams traded victories in the first two games. Florida won the opener 8-6. Texas A&M took game two 10-6. The finale was tied at two entering the bottom of the eighth when Tyler Shelnut’s two-run home run provided the winning Gator margin.
It wasn’t as simple as described above.
