2017 Draft: Top 100 High School Prospects

Premium

With all the major scouting events for the 2017 draft class now in the rear view mirror and the top high school talent in the nation fresh off the early signing period, now is as good a time as any to take an updated look at what this crop has to offer, as well as to which programs they’ve committed. Some things have changed this fall, as some game changing impressions were made at events like Jupiter in late October. We’ve also seen some major commitments roll in, including from one of the elite bats on our list, Conner Uselton.

It’s a high school class that still remains defined by uncertainty, but not by a lack of raw talent. The group is just that, very raw, but there are also several players near the top of the list that are capable of further blossoming into early first round type prospects. Especially given the very fluid nature of all high school rankings, particularly this 2017 group, we also still need to keep a very close eye on each of these players as potential future stars at the collegiate level. Stock rises and falls quickly in the world of high school draft prospects, and this is not a year loaded with first round locks.

With that in mind, here is our updated look at the top 100 high school players in the 2017 draft class. This list will surely change significantly in the months ahead, but for now is based on a collaborations of industry scouts’ opinions from summer events as well as first-hand scouting observations from National Prospect Writer, Frankie Piliere.
