Austin Peay Governors logoThe Governors had emerged as the class of the Ohio Valley Conference, making three straight regionals from 2011-13. The program peaked in 2013, winning a program-record 47 games and earning a No. 2 seed in a regional. But the Govs took a step back over the last two years, posting back-to-back losing seasons. Then, late this summer, long-time coach Gary McClure (the winningest coach in program history) was dismissed after being arrested in a prostitution sting. Suddenly, the APSU program found itself in disarray. The Govs replaced McClure with former Jacksonville State assistant Travis Janssen in mid-September, and he’ll try to get the program back on track. —AF
