Rogers Review: Southern Miss Shows Flashes In Doubleheader Split With Rice
AnalysisHOUSTON — Inclement weather threatened to delay the series between No. 23 Southern Miss and Rice for another day, but there was enough of a window to get a couple of games in at Reckling Park.
It’s safe to say the first game didn’t go as expected, at least for the Golden Eagles. Rice silenced USM’s offense on the way to a 6-0 victory with righthander Mitch Holcomb and lefthander Brandon Deskins leading the charge, while the second game went as planned for Scott Berry’s club.
