Rooney’s College Baseball Strategic Plan: Part 3 – Roster Movements

This was an unprecedented summer for college baseball coaches as they faced the challenge of setting a roster for the 2021-22 school year. It was a dilemma created by the unplanned intersection of three competing dates: the scholarship renewal deadline, the transfer portal entry notification date, and the newly minted July MLB draft. For the purposes of college baseball, these events were like three ships passing in the night.
