Saturday afternoon’s game was a war of attrition, a three-hour, 53 minute siege that included nine mid-inning pitching changes, and very nearly some literal attrition: Texas shortstop Kody Clemens was shaken up briefly after a collision on a first-inning stolen base attempt, while both catchers and home plate umpire Jim Garman all had to walk off bruises from unfortunate pitched or batted balls.
