SAN BERNARDINO, Cali. — What a wild way to wind up the regular season for most of the teams that are geographically situated West of the Pecos River. Profiles, rankings and RPIs all took some hits and took some shots of helium after Saturdays action on the diamond. There are so many cliffhangers, white-knucklers and what-the-hell-just-happeneders that they could re-shoot a bunch of film noir classics with new scripts… if there wasn’t this damn writer’s strike that is going on now in Hollywood.
