COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Moments like Friday night is why Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle and his coaching staff pursued Troy Claunch in the transfer portal last summer.

Claunch, who had exhausted his undergraduate eligibility with the Oregon State Beavers after last season, decided to enter the portal for his final season of college baseball. He wanted to experience new scenery, and it just so happened that he chose to head to the Southeastern Conference, and more importantly, Texas A&M.
