Yet another college baseball season is finally here. Let’s say that again: College Baseball is BACK.
Here at D1Baseball, we’ve kept you in the loop with in-depth conference previews, player rankings and so much more over the past few weeks. Now, it’s time for the rubber to meet the road and to get the season started.
So, how do we see the NCAA Tournament Field of 64 looking at the end of the season?
A lot can and will change between now and Selection Monday. But for now, we love the idea of having Wake Forest as the top national seed, followed by fellow top eight seeds Florida, Arkansas, LSU, TCU, Oregon State, Vanderbilt and Clemson, along with Texas A&M and Tennessee right on the cusp of the top eight.
In terms of overall conference bids, the Southeastern Conference, to no surprise, leads the charge with 10 postseason bids, followed by the ACC with eight, the Big 12 with seven and the Pac-12 with six in its final season as a conference. Other multi-bid leagues include the Sun Belt with three, while the American, Big Ten, Big West and Coastal leagues have two bids to the postseason field.
