The Alaska League’s Top of the World Series got underway last night between the Mat-Su Miners and the Anchorage Bucs. The Bucs struck first, breaking a scoreless tie in the 12th inning to win the opener of the best-of-three championship series. Another win would give Anchorage its first title in 17 years, and it would be a significant upset considering how much of a juggernaut Mat-Su has been this summer.
