Vetrano stays scalding hot in Boston College win over Nicholls

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — In the fifth inning of Saturday’s elimination game between Boston College and Nicholls in Tuscaloosa, the Colonels elected to intentionally walk Boston College first baseman Joe Vetrano. 

It also happened in the ninth inning of the Eagles’ game Friday against Troy, but frankly, given the way the big lefty is swinging the bat, it’s a surprise it hasn’t happened more often already this weekend. 

After clubbing two home runs in the game against Troy, Vetrano hit two more Saturday against Nicholls, a solo shot in the fourth inning and a three-run blast in the seventh in a 14-6 victory[…]
