Top 150 Prospects: 2016 Draft Prospects
The 2016 MLB Draft is less than a month away and draft boards are beginning to take shape for teams across the country. Crosscheckers are now out in force as scouting departments look to stack up the talent, and we are now getting a clear picture of exactly what this class has to offer.
The high school class continues to look extremely deep in both position players and pitchers, but there is still quite a bit on the college side that remains in flux. Injuries and inconsistency have created a wide open race for college arms vying for a first-round selection, and there are still hitters battling for a place in that second tier that lies beyond stars like Kyle Lewis, Corey Ray, Nick Senzel, and Zack Collins.
After thorough consultation with our sources in the scouting world, we are set to unveil our Top 150 Prospects list for the 2016 draft. This list was a collaboration between national draft writer Frankie Piliere and D1Baseball editors Aaron Fitt and Kendall Rogers. This list accounts for players in both the college and high school ranks that could be in play approximately as potential top four- to five-round selections. Most scouts are still calling this a very wide open class and one that could lead to a lot of surprises on draft day. With that in mind, here is D1Baseball.com’s latest list update, including scouting notes on the top 50 players on the list.
