D1Baseball continues to expand its interactive elements to its users, and in a new series called ‘Candid Convos with Coaches’, we will spend an hour with various coaches around the country getting their pulse on the sport as a whole, their program, and their pathway to Division I Baseball.

We hope to feature a new coach each week in our video and podcast series. And in our first edition, our Mike Rooney, Kendall Rogers, and Aaron Fitt sat down with Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle, here. Our second Candid Convo featured Virginia head coach Brian O’Connor, which you can find, here. Our third convo featured Stanford skipper David Esquer, which you can find, here. Now, we have a Candid Convo with Texas head coach David Pierce.

Pierce has spent the last six seasons with the Texas program. In that time, he’s guided the Longhorns to the College World Series twice, and was a national semi-finalist last season. The ‘Horns have a national title-worthy club coming back in 2022, and he discusses that upcoming squad, 2021, plus has some great stories about Rice legendary coach Wayne Graham, his path to coaching, and our very own Kendall Rogers.
