South Bend Takeaways: Three Standouts From Louisville-Notre Dame
AnalysisSOUTH BEND, Ind. — On a cold, cloudy day in the Upper Midwest, visiting No. 7 Louisville got the best of No. 14 Notre Dame in the first game of their three-game series on Friday. Notre Dame got on the board first, doing so in the first inning thanks to Carter Putz’s first double of the day – which followed a leadoff single by Spencer Myers – but Louisville took advantage of a sloppy fourth to tack on three runs, adding two more in the fifth and a pair of insurance runs in the ninth to secure the 7-4 victory.
