2023 Fall Report: Virginia Tech

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Last month, Virginia Tech had the rare opportunity to take part in a fall exhibition that would feel like an actual dress rehearsal for the 2024 season.

Fall exhibitions are typically lightly-attended by a half-hearted crowd that thins out pretty quickly, especially once the format devolves into more of a glorified scrimmage and less of an actual game. And furthermore, many fall games for high-level Division I teams are against overmatched competition, whether a Division I team from a much smaller league, a lower-division team, a junior college team or a barnstorming international prep prospect team.
