Baseball Is Finally Back In Blacksburg

BLACKSBURG, Va. — “Before I die, baseball will be back in Blacksburg.”

Nick Biddison remembers the decree well. Virginia Tech head coach John Szefc was speaking to the team after the final game of Biddison’s freshman season. While still vivid, that memory feels like it’s from ages ago for the fourth-year junior, who has watched Szefc transform the Hokies from a rudderless group of individuals that was struggling to get to 20 wins a season (much less 35 or 40) to a thriving community that has become a destination for fans and players alike.
