Fall ReportRALEIGH, N.C. — During the course of Elliott Avent’s remarkably consistent tenure as head coach — a period that has included 20 trips to regionals in 26 completed seasons — one constant has persisted: NC State always hits. Stars come and go, but hitting is in this program’s DNA, and it has ranked among the top six scoring offenses in the ACC for 10 of the past 11 completed seasons. Avent and longtime associate head coach Chris Hart really know how to teach hitting, and they also have placed plenty of emphasis on position players in the recruiting process.
