Fall ReportMIAMI — Former major league first baseman/left fielder Jeff Conine, a first-time coach this fall, was asked if anything has surprised him about his new endeavor.
“I’m surprised by how much I’m loving it,” responded Conine, who is the FIU Panthers’ associate head coach. “I’ve always enjoyed talking shop, talking baseball. But it’s been fun working with 16 hitters who are thirsty for knowledge. They all want to learn and improve.”
