STORRS, Conn. — Matt Donlan was looking for two things when he stepped into the batter’s box for his final plate appearance Friday afternoon. The Connecticut catcher wanted a pitch up in the zone and more importantly, redemption.
He got both, hitting a two-run homer to push UConn past Creighton, 3-1, in a battle for first place with two of the conference’s best pitchers squaring off.
