For the first time in 2024, there’s a change at the top of the D1Baseball Top 25 rankings. Arkansas ascended to No. 1 after posting a 4-0 week, displacing preseason No. 1 Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons dropped a home series against Duke and dropped six spots to No. 7, while the Blue Devils jumped six places to No. 6 after opening ACC play with their first series win against a top-ranked team since 2009.
LSU moved up one spot to No. 2 despite losing Sunday’s series finale to Xavier. Oregon State, Texas A&M and Tennessee moved up three spots apiece to Nos. 3, 4 and 5, respectively, after all three teams posted undefeated weeks in nonconference play. That trio of teams is a combined 47-2 on the season, with conference play looming next week.
Florida fell four spots to No. 8 after a 2-2 week, despite winning its series at home against Saint Mary’s. The Gators have been up and down during their 10-5 start. Vanderbilt and Clemson held steady in the next two spots to round out the top 10.
TCU tumbled seven spots to No. 12 after opening Big 12 play with a series loss at unranked Kansas. Virginia fell four spots to No. 17 after dropping an ugly series at Miami. Texas Tech fell seven spots to No. 24 after dropping a home series to Texas, which moved up one spot to No. 23, one week after going winless at a tournament at Minute Maid Park. No teams dropped out or entered the rankings this week.
