The COVID-altered 2021 college baseball schedule contains some interesting quirks, like a handful of instances where two teams face each other in back-to-back four-game weekend series. It’s hard enough to sweep a three-game series in college baseball; winning seven straight games against the same team feels unprecedented, but that’s exactly what Wichita State did against Houston over the last two weekends, winning the final three games of last week’s series at UH by one run apiece, then sweeping a four-game set in Wichita by more comfortable margins this past weekend.
